Book of Mormon in a Month

I was challenged the read the Book of Mormon for the month, and I just finished it. I would be amidst not write down my testimony of the Book of Mormon. This month has been spent abundant in the words of God. I have been so blessed to be able to read the scriptures so quickly and finish this goal. I learned so much this month while reading the scriptures.

From Nephi, I learned how important it is to ask God for ourselves if what the prophet says is true. Only then can we gain our own understanding of the commandments, and then go forward with great faith.

From Alma the Elder, and his people, I learned the importance of repentance and making covenants with Heavenly Father. Then, when we have trials, we will be able to bear with patience our afflictions.

From Mosiah, I learned the importance of a strong government in our lives, and how the God will bless the votes of a righteous people.

From the sons of Mosiah that the gospel can go to anyone, even those we think might not be ready to accept Jesus Christ.

From the people of Ammon, I learned that forsaking sins is more important then even our very lives.

From Captain Moroni, I learned that we need to vigilantly stand up for what we know is right.

From Mormon, I learned that having faith, hope, and charity turn our lives to Jesus Christ.

From all the prophets of the Book of Mormon, I learned that I need to repent of my sins, turn to Jesus Christ, and have faith in him. Faith is the underlying quality that all these men had, and I hope my faith can grow like theirs.

I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true. I knew that before I started this challenge, but reading it again has reaffirmed my strong testimony of these scriptures. In this, I will never doubt. I am grateful for the prophets who wrote the words of Christ on golden plates, and for Joseph Smith for translating those plates so I can read the Book of Mormon. And I hope to read it many more times in my life, so I can always remember the truthfulness of its words.
